Amazing Grace

Grandma Dovie

Last Sunday, we sang Amazing Grace during worship service. It always reminds me of my Grandma Dovie. It was one of her favorite songs and my cousin, Sharon, sang it at her funeral. Grandma went to be with the Lord 15 years ago.

Here are a few of the things I remember about Grandma:

• Saintly -- A sweet Christian Lady.
• Her Patience -- I never saw her angry, raise her voice or use a cuss word.
• Crackers in bed -- Grandma let us grand kids eat crackers in bed at her house.
• Little Lady -- petite in size (under 5 ') and always mannered (what happened with Willy & Wanda?...hee, hee)
• Coins -- You would always find coins, mostly pennies, hidden or wrapped up in paper.
• Her House -- a little white house that was great for playing outside, like Cowboys and Indians with our cousins.
