Someday I'll be back...

It has been sooooo long since I've had time to blog. So much has been keeping us incredibly busy since Spring...primarily selling our house, moving into a new one and birthdays for both my June babies. I've downloaded my 400+ pictures, but it will take me awhile to catch up with at least birthday and house blog posts.

However, I will share what I learned (or reminded of) with moving:

  • We have way too much crap.

  • June is a really hot time of year to move.

  • I'm really old.

  • Moving sucks.

  • My husband amazes me.

  • Super Dave and I make a great team.

  • I don't want to move again for a long, long time.

The Small Things

We have been so busy lately that I just haven't had the energy to blog...so many things I could post and so many pictures. Sigh.

As I race around...town, the house, in my head...I still try to appreciate all the small things. Obviously, I'm thankful for the big things, like my heavenly Father, Super Dave, Sissy, JT, family, friends, health...

So, just like they say "not to sweat the small stuff", don't miss the small things either. Some of the small things I appreciate are:
  • hot coffee first thing in the morning
  • quiet time reading
  • cuddling with my little boy during the day
  • cuddling with my little girl at bedtime
  • keeping updated through face*book
  • my soft, red throw
  • having a lap cat, purring in my lap
  • the wonderful scents from my warmers
  • that my friends laugh at the same things as I do
  • watching JT sing when he thinks no one is listening
  • looking at Sissy...in the car or while she plays
  • the beautiful pictures Sissy draws
  • the many funny things JT does...daily
  • watching tv with my man
  • laughing with Super Dave...our sense of humor is, well, in sync
  • having Sissy in the kitchen cooking with me
  • driving in my 'Nox" with the sunroof open
  • listening to music...of all flavors
  • my comfy bed
  • my soft, beautiful kitties

Goodness, I could go on, but my moment to sit still is almost over. How did I catch a few minutes? Didn't cook. :)

Until next time...Momma Wolg

Date with Daddy

Last Thursday, Super Dave took Sissy to the Dads n Daughters Valentine Dance at church. I'm so glad they decided to go; they had a great time. A sweet memory for both of them to treasure. What a great, handsome Daddy and such a sweet, beautiful girl. Momma Wolg

More Pictures from our 2nd Snow

After I posted the pictures from our 2nd snow of the year, which was primarily ice at that point, it snowed the next day. So, finally, I am posting some of the pictures from the 'snow day'. For some, this amount of snow is not impressive, but for North Texas, we'll take it. And in true Texas fashion, it is now in the 70's and 80's...about time to pull out the flip flops again. :)

Second Snow of 2011

Hello from the frozen tundra.
Well, North Texas (as well as most of the US) was hit by a winter storm this week. We got very little snow...mostly sleet and ice. And, very LOW temperatures. So, this storm is NOT FUN to play in like the snow in 2010. It's down right FRIGID. Brrrrr!

The kids have been out of school for 3 days with the 4th tomorrow. And, it's too cold and slick to play outside. So, we've had lots of family togetherness. Super Dave even stayed home for 2 days. Lots of tv, movies and especially the Wii. Although, we had a 2 hour period of time without power. And, more than 24 hours without internet, tv and phone. Withdrawals? INDEED.

We've gone a little stir crazy. We HAD to get out for a bit. So, the kids and I ventured out with some friends today. We went to the mall for lunch and shopping (a.k.a. walking around...get some energy out). My friend was nice enough to drive all of us, albeit at about 10 mph. We made it home, safely and a little poorer. ;)

No pic's of the kids in the ice, I mean snow, yet. But here's few pictures to make you cuddle under a blanket.

Growing Up

Say it isn't so? My little girl is not so little anymore. A couple weeks ago, Sissy went to her first children's retreat at church. In other words, she slept away from home...without her Mom. She's had many sleep overs, but only with family members or close friends.

It feels like she's hitting a milestone. Not just the retreat, but with Sissy out growing her "little girl" things. Part of me is excited to see her grow up and I'm so proud. However, part of me is sad. As we've started getting rid of some stuff in the house, like toys the kids have outgrown. It about brought me to tears as I boxed up baby dolls and princess stuff. Remembering a time past, never to return. But, I'm also looking forward to new adventures and memories together.

Hugs and Kisses to my sweet girl. Momma Wolg

Sissy and her BFF going to the "Whatever" Children's Retreat
Such a sweet friendship...reminds me of my childhood friend "Bye Mom"
She's probably thinking...You can go now Mom.
Nope, can't make me; I'm watching you leave.

Back from the retreat...Sissy had a blast! She's happy, tired and dirty. And, she's ready for summer camp now.
